Full 6v6 hockey is the goal — it’s the game we set out to make. But it’s also a lot of interlocking systems: line changes, zone coverage, AI positioning at full roster depth. Building all of that before anything is playable is how projects stall out.
So the first prototype is 3v3. Smaller roster, smaller ice surface concept, same core moment-to-moment feel — skating, puck handling, hitting, shooting. It lets us validate the parts that matter most (does it feel like hockey?) with a fraction of the systems work, then scale up to full 6v6 once that foundation is solid.
See the roadmap on the TBHG page for where we are.
